One minute you’re checking your timeline, and before you know it:
You’re in a rabbit hole of missing children stories and true crime updates.
You’re reading about celebrity drama and arguing in the comments about people you don’t even know.
You’re watching people drag each other over red pill podcasts, reality TV mess, and internet beefs.
You’re consuming so much negativity, gossip, and drama that your mood shifts—and none of it even affects your real life.
And the wildest part? We know it’s draining, but we keep scrolling.

I’ve personally had to take quiet social media breaks—not a dramatic “I’m deactivating my page, see y’all later!” announcement, just logging off for a day or two and minding my own business. And honestly? My mental health is better for it.
So let’s talk about creating healthier habits in 2025 and learning how to unplug, reset, and live our own lives instead of watching everyone else’s.
The Problem: Social Media Overload is Real
We weren’t meant to consume this much news, drama, and opinions 24/7. And yet, social media makes it too easy to:
Compare our lives to strangers.
Argue about things that don’t even matter.
Stay trapped in a negative content loop (the algorithm thrives on drama).
Feel mentally drained, anxious, or disconnected from our real lives.
And let’s be honest—when’s the last time social media actually made you feel BETTER about yourself?
Now, don’t get me wrong—I’m a content creator. I love being online, connecting with my audience, and sharing my thoughts. But even I know too much scrolling is unhealthy.
The Solution: Mind Your Business & Live Your Life
Instead of getting sucked into social media madness, what if we got back to REAL hobbies, real connections, and real joy?
Here are some ways to unplug & live more intentionally:
Read More Books

Remember when reading was an escape, not endless scrolling? Let’s bring that back. And If books are too much, you are doing good with reading my blog 😉
🎨 Get Creative Again
• Break out that Cricut machine and start crafting again.
• Go to a sip & paint or try journaling & scrapbooking.
• Pick up an old hobby you loved before social media took over.
🏀 Move Your Body & Have Fun
• Join an adult sports league—basketball, kickball, even pickleball!
• Try dance classes, yoga, or just taking daily walks.
• Moving your body is better than sitting and scrolling for hours.
🍽️ Host Gatherings & Bond with People IN REAL LIFE ( & put down your phone)
• Game nights, brunches, dinner parties.
• Movie nights with family & friends.
• We spend so much time watching others “live out loud” online that we forget to live out loud in our own lives.
The time we waste scrolling and consuming everyone else’s lives could be used to build the life we actually want.
Social Media is Cool… But Take Breaks When You Need To
This isn’t about quitting social media forever. It’s about being intentional with it. And If you decide that a break isn't necessarily for you try incorporating these for a healthy balance:
Follow more positive content creators (if your timeline is a mess, the algorithm will keep feeding you mess).
Set time limits on apps so you’re not scrolling for hours.
Log off when it starts affecting your mood.
And as a content creator, I get it—I don’t want y’all to stop supporting creators like me! But if your mental health is suffering, take a step back.
Final Thoughts: Live Your Life Loudly in 2025
The goal this year? Stop living through social media and start living in real life.
Let’s get back to:
✅ Minding our business.
✅ Chasing our dreams.
✅ Focusing on our own happiness instead of comparing it to strangers online.
✅ Creating, connecting, and thriving OFFLINE.
So here’s my challenge to you—try a 24-hour social media break this week and see how you feel.
And if you’re already making changes in 2025, tell me: What’s one new habit you’re focusing on this year? Drop it in the comments! 💬
