When Community and Vibes Collide: Two Hot Chicks in the Building

Updated: Dec 23, 2024

The Holiday Season has been pretty busy for 2 Hot Chicks. For those that aren't familiar, I am 1 of the 2 Hot Chicks from the 2 Hot Chicks Podcast, your favorite duo bringing you laughs, real talk, and a good time on the airwaves. A couple weeks ago, we took those good vibes straight to the community as we DJ’d the 4th Annual Food & Coat Drive/Small Business Vendor event hosted by Alicia Manley of A'liciously Saucy Catering and Desserts.

Let me tell you, it wasn’t just an event. It was a vibe, a celebration, and a whole lot of “Yes, we love to see it!” moments.

A Marketplace of Magic

Picture this: over 40 vendors under one roof, each flexing their creativity, passion, and hustle. It was like walking into a treasure chest—you didn’t know what you were going to find, but you knew it was going to be good.

Here’s the rundown:

• Crafters & Creators: Custom tumblers, journals, handbags, shirts, and clothes.

• Sugar Rush Central: Cupcakes, cake pops, and treats so cute (and delicious) you almost didn’t want to eat them. Almost.

• Foodie Favorites: A charcuterie specialist and a caterer brought the flavor—and yes, everything was delicious.

• The Heart of Art: Authors, painters, jewelers, and more, sharing their stories and talents.

• Motivators & Healers: Life coaches, holistic vendors, and herbal specialists helping folks level up their lives.

• Kid Entrepreneurs: A young boss with his own jewelry line that had me reaching for my wallet—I left with two bracelets for my babies.

The event wasn’t just about selling products; it was about building bridges. You could feel the entrepreneurial spirit in the room, with people asking, “How can we collab? How can we support each other?” It was community in action, and it was beautiful to witness.

Two Hot Chicks: The Soundtrack to the Day

Right in the center of it all were Two Hot Chicks, setting the vibe with the soundtrack fit for the occasion. We had folks coming up all day saying, “Y’all are jamming!” There’s no better feeling than knowing the music you’re playing is keeping the energy alive.

Giving Back

Now, let’s get real for a second. Yes, the event was fun, and yes, the vibes were unmatched, but what truly mattered was the giving back. I had the opportunity to donate coats to the toy drive, and let me tell you, there’s something so fulfilling about knowing you’re making a difference, no matter how small.

And I have to shout out my sister friend Alicia Manley, the chef and mastermind behind A'liciously Saucy Catering and Desserts, for organizing this incredible event year after year. Alicia doesn’t just make tasty food (seriously, her stuff is NEXT LEVEL); she pours her heart into this community. And I’m so grateful she trusts Two Hot Chicks to bring the music and the magic to this event every time (This was our 4th year).

Reflections on the Day

The Food & Coat Drive/Small Business Vendor event wasn’t just about selling products or playing music. It was about connection, collaboration, and celebrating the hustle. It was a reminder of what happens when people come together with a shared goal: to build each other up and pour into the community.

And let’s be real—when the music is pumping, the vendors are thriving, and the spirit of giving is in the air, you know it’s a day to remember. The best part? We get to do it all over again next year.

How Are You Supporting Your Community?

So here’s my question for you: How are YOU showing up for your community? Are you supporting local entrepreneurs? Giving back to causes that matter? Let’s keep this momentum going. Share your ideas, your collabs, or your favorite ways to give back—I’d love to hear about it.
